weird electrical problems

Car: 87 IROC
Engine: 305 TPI going to LT1
Transmission: 5spd
weird electrical problems
ok whenever i'm not using my lights my car runs just fine. but if i turn my lights on then whenever i floor it in 1st gear my lights go dim and my voltage drops to just above 8 Volts.
the weird thing is that it doesn't do it in any other gear but first. like i can put it in 2nd and it won't happen or i can start in 2nd and floor it and it won't happen.
could my computer be going bad or what would be the problem? i don't think it would be a ground since it doesn't do it in every gear but i dunno
