Delco Loc stereos

Does anyone now how to tell if your delco loc stereo has been secured with a code. I bought the car second hand and I don't want to disconnect the battery until I find out. I don't know the original owner, and the dealer did not know. Thanks

Well, I know that in GTA's, the only way to unlock it is to press the "mute" button on the steering wheel controlls!

If you have something newer than the above-mentioned older delco-loc systems, you should be able to contact your local GM dealer for help if the deck becomes locked. The newer systems utilize two seperate 3-digit look-up codes that GM uses to decode the 4-digit unlock code.
