Hey everyone, just replaced my headlight switch in hopes that it was the reason why my headlights aren’t working but with no success.
I’ve checked all grounds, thrown 12 volts to the lights individually which work, and the **** which when
pulled all the way turns the side markers on as well as the tail lights and license plate lights. And yes I checked the fuse box too and they’re all working too.
There is no power going to the connectors that connect to the lights so I hate to say it but it would have to be the wiring right? I’m guessing somewhere the power coming from the light switch is being grounded somewhere due to a break in the wire and not making it to the lights itself. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
You are going to have to measure the Voltage as you go through the components of the circuit.
Find out where you lose the Voltage.
-Constant 12v Positive comes from the Starter-Motor Stud with the Fusible-Links.
-A 12AWG Red Wire goes through the C100 Fire-Wall Bulk-Head.
-The 12AWG Red Wire goes into the Headlamp Switch.
-A 14AWG Yellow Wire comes out of the Headlamp Switch.
-The 14AWG Yellow Wire goes into the Dimmer-Switch (Low-Beam/ High-Beam Switch on the Column with a Rod, like the Ignition-Switch).
-A 16AWG Tan wire comes out of the Dimmer-Switch, goes through the C100 Fire-Wall Bulk-Head, and then to each Low-Beam Headlamp.
-Also a 16AWG Light-Green wire comes out of the Dimmer-Switch, goes through the C100 Fire-Wall Bulk-Head, and then to each High-Beam Headlamp.
