Correct cable connection / location?
Hi everyone
As my name stated I'm Kevin and located in Germany.
I just bought a '91 Firebird with the 5.0 TBI.
It's my third Firebird and my second 3rd gen so far. I am kind of familiar with the vehicle, but I guess I will have a few questions here and there since I'm not a mechanic and some technical things are out of my comfort zone.
So this is the first issue I came across... The previous owner installed some awful LED DRL wich I removed yesterday. I figured that he had bolt on a cut-off relay (which isn't supposed to be there) where a power cable from the battery went in and two more cables. Both, the red and the purple one are going directly to the starter.
So my question is, where are those cables mounted originally?
When I gave power to the purple one, nothing happened.
As soon as I gave power tho the red one, the starter immediately began to crank. So this one isn't meant to be hot all the time.
Under that relay is a factory mounted power junction box, but nothing else.
I searched for pictures as reference, but couldn't find anything helpful...
