LED headlight upgrade. Digi dash problem
Have an 88 gta with digital dash. Installed LED headlights from screaming chicken. My drivers information center (DIC) now displays I have headlight issues. Also my left turn signals no longer work. Right signals work. How can i fix this issue?

You apparently have headlights with "Lamp Monitor". Functional description is on page 1463 of the 88 Firebird service manual, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...ce-manual.html
There is a comparator circuit that checks the headlights and a message will appear in the DTC if doesn't pass that comparison. I think maybe it compares current, so a circuit resistance imbalance between headlight bulbs would maybe cause the fault warning to appear.

Re: LED headlight upgrade. Digi dash problem
Screaming chicken sent me resistors for the headlights. That seem to work. occasionally the " F lamp" message would pop up on the DIC. But, after I upgraded the positive and negative wires on the battery and to the engine and frame, I have not received that message. I didn't do the "big 3" upgrade because of this issue. did it because bigger stereo, bigger alternator, fans etc. but since that seemed to fix it, sounds like i possibly had a bad ground somewhere. Now the DIC says PONTIAC like its supposed to do when there isn't a problem.
