Name that wire game

Just going over the car to see what all minor things need to be repaired and of course the wiring under the dash has been "modified." Anyone want to play guess where this goes? The big random blue wire. Gonna trace it today but any guesses just for fun?

Re: Name that wire game

Does the blue wire terminate down by the gas pedal or dose it make a connection to another colored wire?

Goes through the firewall. Power to the radiator fan.

Re: Name that wire game

No one can possibly tell you what that wire is for because it is not original to the car, not documented in any service manual, not even the right way to do things. Somebody just stuffed it in a fuse blade (probably randomly) and that's all we know.

My suggestion is eliminate it and pay attention to what might not be working and then fix that in a proper way. In the end, you're going to not need that wire because you're going to fix it right.

Re: Name that wire game

The name of that wire is Hack Job. Mr Job, meet krk. Krk, meet Hack.

Find the other end. Repair whatever failed thing caused Stimpy to install Hack. Remove Hack.

There's a lot to unpack here.

Needless to say that these connectors need to be looked at.

I'm assuming an alarm module of some sort?

The orange wire is going from the fuse panel to the cooling fan or to the relay?

Should look at your fuses and what amp fuses need to used where.

Has the car been switched to carb, your injector fuses are missing, is that a 3 amp crank fuse?,
