Key has a hard time starting the car
Ok so I have an 86 iroc z with a automatic 700r4, I adjusted the safety switch next to the shifter and it turned over more frequently. But what I'm hearing in the car is the solenoid, and it sounds like it's having a hard time turning it over. When I have a starter switch connected to the starter it has no issue.
So my questions are how do I know if the neutral safety is bad ?
if its not that and its the igniton switch on the column, how can I tell if that's bad ?
or should I just replace them both ?
I'm trying to bring her back to her former glory any insight would be awesome thanks guys

More definition needed regarding, "it sounds like it's having a hard time turning it over". What sound is it making?

It does have a hard time turning over, there is a small pause then it cranks, but it hardly turns it over, it has alot of trouble just cranking over the engine. When I turn the key in the cat I can hear the solenoid having a hard time turning it over
