Dome Light problems

Alright I have a 87 TA. It has T Tops and the headliner before i got it had some water stains on it. so the other day i took out the headliner... which i had to take off the little dome light, map light, deal... which is between the T Tops... i had to mess with the wires to get the headliner out... now when i go to push the button for the dome light it doesnt "click" right, the map light still does but the dome light doesnt. So how do i go about fixing it so it clicks and the dome light comes on??? Or is it a Goner?

The button can come out of it's retainer. Hopefully that's all that happened, instead of the retainer breaking altogether. You can remove the two speednuts and pull down the dome light and see/fix the problem.

Nowhere near a hundred bucks. If you can not fix it I would go ahead and purchase a whole new unit. nextgenparts.com sells the complete unit for $35.95
