454 chevy with th400
I just picked this up yesterday. The engine sounded great, started right up no knocks or smoke. This was pulled from a T-boned late 70's truck. The engine was supposed to have just over 62K miles and it shows, the inside is very clean. The transmission fluid is cherry red and doesn't smell burnt.
I'm asking $1400.00.
No shipping, not even remotely possible, this thing weighs a ton!
I can however assist in loading it up I have a heavy duty lift.
This is located in Connellsville, PA, about 35 miles south of Pittsburgh.
This is complete from carb to oil pan.

too bad it wasnt closer i could use the leaf packs from under it if its a BIG10 77-80 years
in which it most likely it, and is for sure if the 4th vin code digit is a 4
i had a 73 C-20 with 454 and th400 they are stout trucks i shoulda kept it
i know where theres a 79 BIG10 2wd with 454 and 400 in it i been bugging the guy to let it go to me but he says he is going to "restore it"
hum
i jut want the entire rolling chassis minus the engine so i can have a 2wd
have owned a few of these over the years, shoudla kept them all
good luck

Free bump for wishing and good luck with your sale....Nice find.
Randy that makes 2 of us in wishing to be closer, and of course if I had the money,I would love to have it for my '73 C10 CST(she was my Dad's truck). She's a factory BB(rebuilt 350 now)VIN code Z/TH400(it's still there)factory A/C,tilt,posi 12 bolt.Having a 454 back in her would be icing on the cake.

The heads aren't nothing great. 14081045. The trans is a short tail. The suffix on the block puts it in a 74 Chevelle SS, so the heads were added later or the engine ia a reman.

Re: 454 chevy with th400
You find this on craigslist? I saw a similar setup a few days ago but it was already sold. I am real close to you, but I don't need a trans. Was thinking of going big block in my 84 pickup. I do have a pretty healthy 357 in my Chevelle that I don't need. Just a .040, flat top with 882 heads. Some home porting done and a Summit cam (don't recall the specs, but I do have the cam card). Ran like a beast in my car, but already got a 454 for it, so the small block gotta go. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Good luck with the sale.
