Black powdercoated spindles, Timken/SKF bearings and seals, torch red powdercoated C4 Grand Sport style PBR front calipers, Baer Eradispeed drilled, slotted, and zinc washed front rotors, DOT approved braided front brake lines, Hawk HPS Street brake pads. Due to the GS style calipers this setup requires 17" and larger wheels. The kit will come fully assembled for you, new dust caps installed as well. This is the best HD kit you can assemble and I've done it for you. I didn't fully assemble the kit as I did not want to install the pads before I need to.

which are better in terms of stopping power between these and the c5 z06 brakes?

 

I don't think you'll find any hard facts or distance numbers from anyone including me but I know these will do the work, especially with the drilled rotors and Hawk pads. C5s are 12.75", these are 13" and there's only .15" difference in thickness. C5s do have larger pad area but both have the same size pistons so it's a personal choice. Considering what's in this package you're getting a LOT of brake.

Maybe I should have a local brake system test session with a few test mules? Hmmm...

Wrong time thow. Im just starting my Project and dont expect to be to brakes untill late spring early summer of 08. Gotta spend the money right now on frame work and paint and such.....Then engine. MAN them look SWEET!!!!!!

What is your most cost effective front brake setup to fit under my stock 16 inch Iroc wheels? I have an 88 Iroc and soon to convert to the 89 rear PBR setup on my 9 bolt. I do not need the drilled and slotted rotors- I prefer the plain ones. Any proportioning valve or master cylinder needed to perform correctly? My car has the original master and prop valve for the disc setup. I inquired about a 1LE setup some time ago, but funds did not work out at the time.

Most cost effective setup is the LS1s. C5s won't fit and C4 HDs are more expensive. You can keep the stock master (assuming you had rear drums stock) and swap the prop as needed. I also have an '88 and swapped both of them during my conversion.
