What do you mean? Explain yourself a little clearer. To my knowledge the cold start injector is not part of the equation. The chip optimizes timing and air fuel delivery for peak acceleration at all rpms. It delays torque converter lock-up maximizing horsepower output with faster rpm shifting. Gives improved performance without sacrificing driveability or economy.

 

yes it does all that, but the ecm controls the cold start injector and 89-up models dont have it, i believe this may be why they make year specific chips.

 

So the original question would it work on an 87 is correct according to you as this is for an 88. Why mention 89 or newer? I'm just trying to help a friend out. I won't make any money off this sale either. Are you interested in it?

Okay, do some research they eliminated the cold start injector in 88, i just checked it out in my TPI Swapper's Guide

So for the record again this is for an 88. PERIOD. IF you don't have an 88 it won't work. Is that plain enough?

Cold start was eliminated in 89, have an 88 GTA 350 which has cold start inj., 89 was last year for MAF and had no cold start
