Re: Parting out 85 firebird

Can you get the heater core pipe out of the front of the intake manifold without destroying it? It will take a lot of penetrating oil and a ton of patience, but I NEED that pipe... Mine is slowly splitting in half , and it's causing a nice leak. Also, what color are the valve covers? If they are silver, I call dibs.

Re: Parting out 85 firebird

i already have all of it taken apart, ill have to look around my porch to see if i still have this pipe, are you talking about the metal ones to the heater core or a plastic elbow off the water p ump because i dont think this engine had the plastic elbow. valve colors are a light greenish, if your interested i could sand them down and paint them chrome lol.

no rear disc. any brake parts from this car are going to end up in the trash and they should probably stay there.

Re: Parting out 85 firebird

NOBODY HAS BOUGHT ANY OF THIS STUFF SOMEBODY PLEASE GET IT OFF MY HANDS. i would hate to throw away working parts... the only thing im reusing on this car is the steering column, spindles, driveshaft, rear end, and brake booster and master cylinder. EVERYTHING ELSE is sitting on my front porch and its in my way but i cant bring myself to throw away working parts.

Re: Parting out 85 firebird

well here's a random question.... if the car was non-ground effect, theres two little black pieces of plastic that box in the radiator support, fender, and front bumper cover, one on either side that an air dam under the car would bolt onto..... kinda need those if they're cheap and lying around there and you didnt need em.... sounds like you were building a drag car or something so thought I'd check. Not even sure that they're called....
