Re: 9 bolt

FYI....89-92 9-bolts came stock with PBR brakes, so yours aren't "4th gen brakes".

Re: 9 bolt

I thought 90s up didn't have 9 bolts anymore? I know of 2 5.7 GTAs, a 90 and a 92 that both have a 10 bolt.

I think like halfway through 90 they switched to the 10 bolts...

Re: 9 bolt

Regardless of the 90-92 debate...89 GTA came with PBRs on 9-bolts stock. I sold one a couple years ago.

It is my understanding, there was a 9-bolt shortage in the end, so yes...Some late GTAs ended up with 10-bolts.

Re: 9 bolt

I think it's got to be in 90 too that they switched over, 91 & 92 didn't have it an the last 90 I looked at had a 10 bolt too. it was a fully documented car so the rear was stock.

Actually they are; the rear is out of an 88 GTA. I purchased the rear brakes with a 4th gen Camaro 10 bolt, and caliper brackets for the 9 bolt from Flynbye LLC !
My 88 GTA had the 9 bolt, but with the old metric brakes that had the 'racheting' e-brake that quit working probably 20 years ago !

OK.....

In other words, it was only upgraded to the same as later year 9-bolts.

Sorry I straightened out the info on that. Yes.....
You updated a 88 9-bolt rear to 89 brakes by putting n 4th gen brakes, that are really only the same as 89+ 9-bolt brakes.

Still have the smaller 27-spline axles in it? Or did up update to the bigger axles too?

When they went to the larger 11.75" rotors, they also went to the 28 spline axles. Earlier axles were all 26 spline.
