Re: 350 TPI swap

not a bad deal, I saw that a few weeks ago when I was looking for a L98... its no where near me or I would have picked it up, instead I got a forged 355 for $600!

Re: 350 TPI swap

I don't really see that as being all that great of a deal, IMO anyways. The 350 (in which I believe is also included) may be a roller block, but probably isn't machined for it.
I would think that for $800 a person could easily find a complete roller L98 with proper injectors included with the correct L98 computer.
Who knows what that 350 even needs from sitting for 10 years.

Again, this is just my opinion and I know what that is worth but just felt like sharing it

Re: 350 TPI swap

when i saw it the bidding was 100$ lol but theres alot of stuff in there a person with a carbd z28 could use... such as the dash and wiring... and the truck block should be machined for it and the 305 has the lifters retainers and the spider so a roller swap would not be an issue just pick up a used LT1 cam and some springs... but yes at 800 its doesnt seem so great, but you would def be able to recoup a little of that money from the extra parts youd have

Re: 350 TPI swap

Hmmm. Well at $100 then YES that would have been a great deal
FWIW, I have a stock TBI 5.7 block and although it does have the provisions it isn't drilled/tapped for the roller cam stuff (spider/cam retainer/etc).

Re: 350 TPI swap

I'm sure it isn't.
The thought of metal shavings getting where they're not supposed to be would worry me. But I'm sure there are ways to be careful about that though.

At any rate, at $800 it wouldn't be worth it to me and that is the price I saw when clicking on the link and that is why I even commented.
Again, this is JMO.
Take care.

Re: 350 TPI swap

lol that's only 1 hour away from me. If I'm paying $800, I want a complete running motor.
