[AZ] 85-87 Fbody Paxton Supercharger Kit - SOLD
85-87 Fbody Paxton Supercharger Kit - SOLD
I am selling a complete supercharger kit which will fit the 85-87 tpi camaros & firebirds
I purchased it from a member on this board over 8 years ago but never bolted it to my car. Even though person I bought it from said it worked great, I decided to pull it apart and freshen it up.
The member was right, it was in good condition.
However, I went ahead and replaced all the internal components like the bearings, seals, ball bearings, oil pump and filter. I also set the rotating torque on the high side as per a recomendation from paradise wheel. Paradise wheel services the older paxton stuff and they gave me lots of help during the rebuild.
Here is what is included:
sn89 blower, rebuilt
(2) aluminum intake elbows, setup for water injection
(8) belts
crank pulley with reinforcement
mounting bracket with bolts & support
intake duct with elbow
spare parts from rebuild
Paxton supercharger service manual
Paxton installation guide for 85-87 tpi firebird
Paxton owner rebuild guide for SN89 & 92, by CUNDN racing
Hot Rod article from July 88 - booster shot, showcasing the paxton on several f bodys
I am looking to get $600 for everything
give me a call and lets talk, Eric 623-521-0817

Re: 85-87 Fbody Paxton Supercharger Kit
I suppose you couldn't make this work on an 88 because 88 was the first year for the serpentine set up correct? If it would work I would be extremely interested. How much boost does this produce?
Re: 85-87 Fbody Paxton Supercharger Kit
The Paxton install manual recommends positioning the maf sensor where the airflow can sits and putting an airfilter under neath the inner fender.
The attached files should help understand the routing.
I am not sure I would go with this method but thats just me.
Aside from the air cleaner issue, the remaining parts required to complete the install are a few hose couplings with hose clamps, bolts for the crank pulley, other misc bolts.
Note that I do not have the water injection portion of this kit.
As far as boost levels, this article says the max boost level is 5 to 6 psi at 5000 rpm. If you rev beyond this rpm, the larger (3) ball bearings begin to slip on the races. This is the reason why I set the rotating torque of the blower on the high side.

Here is another part of that same article. It talks about a paxton equipped 350 tpi GTA running the 13.67 at 102 mph quarter mile. 0-60 was 4.7 seconds.
Also,
unfortunatley this kit will not fit 88 and up f-bodys

I think you could run this on an 88 and up, especially if you have AC delete. You could just switch your battery and charcoal cannsiter and youre good to go. If you have AC, I think you could fab up a new bracket too work.
Re: 85-87 Fbody Paxton Supercharger Kit, $500
the blower will work on an 88 but you will need another bracket for mounting
