ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

I'm selling my ford 9" that was in my 85. It's 4.85 ratio, 28 spline axles, mini spool, disk brakes, ARP ring gear bolts and wheel studs. You will need a currie or moser torque arm adapter or ladder bars. I was using homemade ladder bars which i have removed. I'm asking $200 which the ring and pinion was more than that. Local pickup in Morrow, GA 30260 please. I take paypal. Sorry about all the clutter in the photo but this rear end has served me well but is now in my way. Thanks

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

I am interested. I have a boat load of questions.

1. What is the length flange to flange?
2. What brakes are being used?
3. What is the bolt pattern for the wheels?
4. Were did the axle housing come from?

200 seems to good to be true even If I have to rop another 1000 on t to make it work.

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

the rear came from a 72 cougar with a 351cleveland engine. its 55.5" from axle tube to axle tube. the bolt pattern is 5x4.5" (ford) i have about $600 invested but I don't need it anymore. It was in my black 85 that I am parting out.

Oh yeah, the brakes. They are from a 1995 crown victoria. I also have a spare third member housing I will throw in.

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

Man I was on board until the length was thrown out there. That rear end is about 7 inches to short. Would not be a show stopper if I did not already have a set of wheels that took a big chunk out of the bank.

Thank you for the quick replay and nice work! That rear end is a good piece, someone will get a deal.

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

you must be using a 4th gen rear? this is the same width as a third gen.

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

Might be interested if you are willing to ship to 62326......

I take it the 55 is housing length, not flange to flange?

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

What are the brakes?

Also I am looking at axles, what is being used on the ends for bearings.

I think I can make my own torque arm mount. I made my own torque arm and Cross member.

What does the other carrier have in it?

THis is going to be one heck of a drive, if I do this. My old man lives in TN so I will probably make it a two day ordeal.

Re: ford 9" fits 82-92 camaro

the brakes are rear brakes from 1995 ford crown victoria. I don't understand your question about the bearings.

When I look at custom axles I can get sealed bearings, Tapered bearing, big bearing ect.

I am not very familiar with axles so I am a little at a loss until I tear into this.
