Hey all,
I am about to head out of town for the week. I picked up a TTA this week in pretty neglicted condition. Long story short I don't think it makes sense to fix the car up. It had been hit and poorly repaired in the passenger quarter and drivers fender. The car seem to be fairly complete.
I am debating between parting it out or taking the guts and putting it into another project vehicle. Let me know what kind of things you could use off this thing.
I will be online throughout the week to respond but wont be able to get any pictures or anything up till Friday.

Hmmmmm, maybe find another 1989GTA Trans Am? Reason for a 1989 I don't know if you have smog laws and what they would be.

it's just really beat up, its been hit, a few times. It has been poorly repaired. It would take a lot to make it nice again. One that has been well kept can be had much cheaper than playing around trying to get this one correct.Originally Posted by KnightmareCS

Its a shame stuff like this is worth more in parts than complete. 80% of 3rd gens need random body parts and paint. Shoot I wouldve bought it if it was closer. Of course it would be awesome to spend the money to make it nice again and you may have been able to buy a nice one for cheaper, but it looked like it would be a decent driver with a little bit of work.

I sure can. Will PM you a shipping estimate tomorrow.Originally Posted by 3rdgenred

The interior is fairly dried out which is not holding up to well on key parts (like seats and plastic trim). There is a bit of bad spots in the car. Core support is cracked, bent and been pulled a few times, underside of the car is hammered - rust in the pans - some nutjob jacked the car up from everypoint except the correct spot - it has a major stress crack in the passenger quarter panel with lots of bondo around it, there is a bit of rust in the car from what I am finding. I have owned many of cars and trust me I don't feel a bit sad about parting this one out for the few parts that are good on it and get it out there for folks to enhance their rides. It would have needed a ton of work to be a descent driver. The car sat for 5 years in the same spot outside. Originally Posted by Formula350Scott

Chiming in again. That ^ pretty much sums up my car. Long ways to go, body wise. Originally Posted by zimmstoy

Good luck, try selling the roller after it's stripped? Race car.

Initial estimate without making a box shows shipping to be around $50. Does that work for you?Originally Posted by 3rdgenred

Interested in the rear. Could you meet me in Texarkana? I live in Central Arkansas and could use the rear in a 92 convertible Z28. allen.bray64@yahoo.com

I know you said the interior is a bit rough, dare I ask how the headliner is? How about the sail panel covers(interior). I would assume they're junk but it doesn't hurt to ask.
How about the front rims?

what parts do you have still available?

Texarkana is about 5-6 hours away from me. Not going to be able to meet there. Perhaps we can find someone heading that way to drop this off with you. Are you coming down for the thirdgen roundup meet here in Austin in May?Originally Posted by abray1

Those pieces are all junk on the interior. I am planning to reuse the front rims for another project.Originally Posted by fly89gta
