I have a set of 062 Ported Vortec's. Brand New Manley Springs an Retainers installed. Stud Boss removed an cut for screw in studs 1.5 roller tip rockers. And a New Ported Vortec Base, with countersink bolts to clear Super Ram. This allows the Base to sit better an no longer have that corner gasket leak on oem used manifold issues.

I bought the heads from a Gm mechanic that were take off heads. They were in new condition but when you want to make power you gotta put money into them an that's what we have here with this Combo. I ran a SR Vortec 4 bolt 383ci an produced 389 rwhp an 442 rear wheel torque. All done at Blower Drive Service. With Craig. No timing touched. All tuned on wide band. Third run torque was higher an we went for bringing up the horse power. Im looking for $1,300 for the combo.. They dont come off the car tell buyer pays. I have an expert 3rdgen mechanic that can get the combo off quickly. No low ball offers because they can stay on the car. It's a good package.. Great for a fresh 355 block. The heads have currently 4,000 miles an nothing more for now. Would like a Southern Ca pick up sale or anything else buyer pays all Shipment cost an Insruance.

If anybody is interested in the block minus the Super Ram that's not for sale. Vortec Base included. running. Forged Pistons,400 rods 400 crank with over 300.00 In Balancing for 350 L98 Iroc-Z Balancer just for the crank alone. No fuel rails no outside sensors. Just what you see. Base to pan. Vortec Block 4 bolt main .30 No flex plate. Just a 153 tooth no water pump. 10.6.2.1 compression making it better than the crate ZZ383.. Turn Key 5,400.00 Firm. 4,000 miles since built. And this motor loves Octane. The heads are same flow as your standard Afr/ Standard Not Elem. or Race just the standard. close to the same flow numbers with the Vortec port work. And that's all why the motor made more than 442rwtq vs ZZ383 449 ft./lbs.
Many people build blocks with upgrades an combo's. For this motor to turn that much hp an esp the tq. That's a good thing when it's your first combo build, the entire car actually. It's time to make some changes if the motor were to sell. Or even the heads base combo.

 

Specifically what was done to the heads other than metioned. What size valves, any work on intake port or just exhaust, if so what was done.

There the Orignal Valve sizes nothing was changed there. It was a complete Port work on the heads. Main focus was to Port Intake an Lightly Port polish the ex. side. The Ex. side for a stroker works better lightly ported an polished with this design heads. And what works better for them is a set of 1 3/4 Hi rise headers on the ex. side. So it's just not a 3 angle port work. It's the entire heads. No Mill..

you basically get a 494.00 Vortec mild ported base free. Thats the deal an that should answer all your questions. I have very few small pics of the Ex. side, sorry motor went together so well by the builder I didnt get there in time to take pics but I just viewed the whole heads finished.

 

Bump.. People are leaning Vortecs these days..And a Tpi Vortec base just for the TPI crowd is a deal with this built combo.

 

And I have someone that could Take the Base Manifold up to it's highest Cfm Hone and there is shaving an porting around the injector areas, Look those Intake Vortec Mods here on Tgo. If I had these mods to Intake I would have reached over 400rwhp an over 442 rwtq. And could probably all be done at a lower price for this Vortec Combo.

 

Then there is another note. This combo gets great fwy hwy fuel mileage. Some of that is because those heart shaped combustion chambers that just burn clean.

My Super ram results are higher because my Sr is all honed an port design an 30lb svt injectors.. Rev my motor you can feel an tell nearly close to 500ft lb torque of Vortec Power. Esclades have a nice motor an for a big suv you still feel that V-8 tone. Well take that motor an do what I have done opening everything up for max flow. 389rwhp 442rwtq at 5,900 rpm.. and 6.3 over 6.2.. And with the results of torque Vortecs will give a 355 a 360 383.. These heads will get you off the line with a good cam an I must say Super Ram.

Last chance on the Vortec's really need to move these My mechanic is waiting for sell to start removal of Sr an get the heads off with Gene Jones Racing, He is the only person I let touch my car. But cant find that person that wants some Tricked out Vortecs. My lowest on these heads are 629.99. That's it.. I'll just go Vortec E-tec heads an keep the base. I want more than 494.00 Brand new for my base. If you need headers for these let me know an I'll direct to that person. There 1 3/4 headers. I have done my best to give you all the information about these heads with the above links.

 

So Branden it doesn't look like you're ready for the be race you proposed months ago.

Those heads are way overpriced...for $1,500 I can pick up a brand new set of assembled AFR's that will flow better and weigh less and then I don't have to use that POS vortec manifold. That manifold has been proven to be one of the worst flowing aftermarket TPI manifolds produced.

Why are you coming to a for sale section an talk about racing. Your so called proposed months ago have been much longer than that it was over a year ago.

You don't seem to know enough about heads an port work. Why dont you go play with your 68 Camaro.. This is the only Tpi Vortec base they make. The flow that your talking is untrue. People can research here what this base can be taken to. E-Tec heads weigh 20 less lbs. You can save that by an Alum water pump an starter, I did the same.

And you don't even focus on what Im selling an the price your talking 1500 Afr's.. I can do better 200.00 less.
Im selling these Dyno Don ported Vortecs for 629.00 so I dont get your over priced combo.

Sorry but that's the only way there being listed to sell. There is thousands of parts being sold before they buyer gets them in there hands. There is enough information with all I listed for a person not experienced with the heads. It's a set of Gm Vortec's casting's. They are offered for sell for two more months. July will be the end of this listing. If there was enough multiple interest Id probably remove the heads off the engine shown in post one. But there is not. I have pictures of ported ex. side but that's the least ported side as you cant port the ex side much.

 

Few more days an July 4th the sell is closed an no longer for sale. I was able to find some one that has a base Id need If I sold the heads intake. There for I can lower the price of the intake an head combo to 860.00 plus shipping.Best I can do.
