Re: Tpi 86-89 ecm 1227165
Are there 2 ECMs for sale?
Is that black spot in the upper left of the 259 photo dirt on the case or is the case damaged there?
I can't read the model number in the second pic. Is it a 165 or 259? And the sticker doesn't look factory. Is it a refurb or aftermarket unit?
Have you verified that either of the ECMs work?
Sorry for all the questions but thanks for answering them!

Hello Chris, the first is a 259 same as a 165 but refurbished.
the second one is I believe cardone 77-7165 both for tpi maf.
the case is dirty doesn’t look damaged. These ecms are unknown condition but if doa I’ll refund.

Re: Tpi 86-89 ecm 1227165
If one replaces a, for instance, 1989 305 AT TPI PROM (or entire ECM) with a 350 TPI PROM (or ECM) would that change be evident when a Ca SMOG Test computer is hooked up and the vehicle tested? Does the model year show up on the test equipment? Thanks.

The model of the ecm doesn’t show a model in the data stream. The prom does but I think it’s a hex value.
does ca even scan obd 1 ?

It’s a binary value the prom uses for scan id.
