9 bolt

I need a gutted 9 bolt. Just the housing. I have the axles, posi, gears, cover and and brakes. My problem is that the outter race on the wheel bearing is spining in the housing. So that means I need to get a new rearend. But if I can just get a gutted rear. I can add all my stuff that I currnetly have on this rear. But I want to make sure it dosn't have the same problem as mine. So see if you can take the outter races out with your fingers. It you can't get them out like that. Then it should be good. You're suppose to have to use a puller to get them out. So let me know what you got. I perfer to pick it up. So if your somewhere close to Tampa, Florida. That would be best. But if you have a good price on one, I might be up for shipping it. Shipping should not be to bad because it will be gutted. Thanks in advance! Adam :-)

I'm cunfusied. What is that, and how do I do that. I was just going to smack it with a chisel so it will hold the race in place till I can get another one. I don't know if that's what youre talking about or not. I'm not good with the technical names. lol. Adam :-)

See if you guys can get shipping qoutes to 33603. Fedex seems cheaper. I've shipped rims and a tranny with them. And it didn't cost as much. If we have to, we can try grayhound bus lines. Thanks! Adam :-)

Charlie,

Similar, but don't use a chisel. Use a center punch and try to make two "punches" across the surface, in 4 spots, ...i/e a cross pattern. It won't take much to raise the surface.

Knurling will do the same thing and would be easier/better. Basically a tool with 3 expandale "wheels" (similar to what a brake hone would look like, but instead of stone, wheels with "teeth" on them). Insert tool, tight some pressure, and rotate.

We tryed that methed. Plus a little lock-tite for the hell of it. It seems to be working good for know. But I have a led on a 99 Z28 rear minus the brakes for $150 hear localy. So I might be doing that. Thanks for the help though! Adam :-)
