WTB: Engine Needed willing to pickup

I am need of a 305 TBI for an exact replacement swap since my original engine blew up due to a cooling issue. The original engine has 94K miles on it, looking for same amount of miles are lower. The car is located at my uncles garage just waiting on the engine. Willing to pay upto $500 for the engine and any parts with it. My uncle and brother will be working on it so all that is needed is to have the engine ready. The broken engine maybe salvaged so if the person that sells me the engine I am either going to give it to them or just give it to a junkyard. I will have the money April 15th (week of). I am in connecticut right now but the car is in Richmond Virginia.

Let me know if you have any questions or have an engine for sale.

Thank you

Re: WTB: Engine Needed willing to pickup

I just got an engine from remington auto parts about an hour and a half away two weeks ago. Thanks anyways; besides gate city is 5 hours west of me and I am 9 hours east of richmond right now. I do have a question for ya though. What does it mean when I need a front seal for my 700R4 trans? I know the transmission ran excellent but when I parked it the fluid flushed out of the trans. I just need to know what the real name of it is (so I can find a price for it)

Thanks

Re: WTB: Engine Needed willing to pickup

It has a couple of different names. Front pump seal, Torque converter seal. Its kinda common for these to go bad considering the flexplate somewhat supports the torque converter. When the engine is left out for a while, it distorts the seal, and leaks. Or its just hard/brittle. Its only 5 bucks from your local parts store.
