305 SBC INTAKE + CARB Wanted
We currently want to drop out a 83 5.0L Trans AM Crossfire system, and we want it to swap for a carburetor system. Hoping better fuel economy and easier setup and better enginebay look.
So we looking for an economical option with aluminum intake and a brand carb. Holley Edelbrock or etc). Shipping need to Hungary by usps or any cheaper way!
Will wait for any offer with prices and pictures!

Re: 305 SBC INTAKE + CARB Wanted
Thanks for the first replies in this topic i planned to buy a distributor, intake, and carb,.
And i thinking on a serpentine belt conversion. So as i read i need a reverse rotation water pump too. And the pulleys system for sure.
This what i can dig out from forum comments.
But it looks like i need some kind of regulator...
Why i need it? (Because of the electric in tank pump?) ( just replaced it to new a week ago) If yes which is the logical way? Keep it and install regulator or delete and install manual one on the side of the block.
Other. As i read too the tranny lock up wont work if i throw the cfi cables out. And some users says the tranny will damaged. Is it true? And what can i do?
For the intake and carb i search still usable used cheap parts. I do not need lot of HP, and brand new expansive parts. Just a relative economical car for better mileage then the cfi, which is more maintenance free, and the which engine bay looks cleaner with out the lot of ugly wires and hoses. I check out ebay for intakes around 30-100$ lot of variants is up for sale for the SBC but i don't know what is the difference between them. For me the all is a wavy top aluminum autopart.
LOL i know.
If someone can suggest me brands and part types that should be ok, and i do read and glad for any shared experience with cfi carb swap. I do read and search here in the forum, (i hope it seems from my words) but in some topics the experiences facing off , so i lost my positon on them whic is right or which is just fiction.
Ps i would like to add a nice 2,5 - 3 inch air cleaner to the top of the whole thing. I read it on of the topic its possible to do not have enough room under the hood if i chose wrong parts.

Re: 305 SBC INTAKE + CARB Wanted
Got an advice for
Intake: 2101 Edelbrock
Carb:1405 Edelbrock
it should be ok, but i don't know how the MPG will change with these. I hoping to getting closer the the LG4 4bbl rates. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/212.shtml
A read here a sticky about a tbi carb swap and it suggest a fuel pressure regulator. So now i know it what it dose. I would like to know a cheaper brand and type for this then Mallory Ignition MAA-4309.
What is the pros and cons to use intake stock pump or use manual pump with this carb setup?
