I want long tube headers for my car.
Who has a pair installed in thier LT1 powered 3rd gen?

 

I'm thinking doing that too . I guess it's fairly easy to do . The design I'd like to build would be a H pipe with dual cats and mufflers.

I think a little creativity and a Tig welder can do it.

 

I currently have my engine and tranny in with heddmen long tubes.

They fit ok but I had to put one side on after I got the engine in and it looks like I may have to bend my tranny cooler lines coming from the 4L60E in order to hook them up properly.

 

I want to put a setup similiar to this one on my Trans Am,

I'll have it at the Bud track when I get it all ready though, probably be at the DavidT's drag race day for all GM products.

 

I have Long tubes in my thirdgen, with an LT1 installed.

 

Did you run the LT1 with standard headers first?
I was wanting to know if there was a performance increase when going with the long tubes.

 

Nope, went straight to long tubes. On 4th gens though, long tube headers are good for 10 RWHP over shorties.
