Do those heads even have hardened valve seats? Why don't you just pick up some newer heads? They will make more power, are easy to find and will solve all your troubles easily.

woody 86 I agree with iroc22
Use different heads for your 327 and you'll get your accs. holes for your bracket, your older 327 heads are all the same and dont have the bolt holes we need

woody, i believe that unless you want o spend big bucks there isn't a pass. side alt bracket. I was running pre-69 heads and used the header/waterpump bracket for my alternator. Are you also running a short water pump? AC?

I beg to differ.....Not my motor but I used the same bracket with the long water pump off a 70's caprice...

Bottom bracket also connects to W/P....just a flat pc with 3 holes

The oil you see came from a leaky non used f/p it has since been fixed,

thanks man. i really appreciate all the help. it looks like it would twist under load with the back side of the alternator not being secure, but if you've been running it i'll give it a try. looks like another trip to the junk yard!

the brackets are very ridgid..I haven't noticed any twisting, I suppose if yo did have a problem with it you could run a strap off the top bracket...some how...Have a great monday

woody...the back/lower side of the alternator is secured by the long bolt, about 5"-6",running thru the alternator casting into the head.If you think finding alternator mounts is tough,I looked high and low for the passenger side mount that bolts to the thermostat housing as my old 70's(?)Offy intake didn't have the hole for the back of the bracket. Finally found one in a pile of parts in an old van at the junkyard, man was I happy to find it.And yes..all stock 327's were two bolt main, but a 4 bolt 327 is easily put together with a 4 bolt 350 block.

I have a 307.. what I did was put the LG4 305 heads on the 307 block so I would have the accessory holes. Worked out great.
