4.3 V6 Bore x Stroke Question

What is the Bore and Stroke of this engine and how big can you go with it? Also does it have the same mounts as the 2.8?

4" bore 3.48 stroke. SBC mounts. I dont know of any stroker cranks (may be some) but its just like a SBC 350, you could go .060 over but I wouldnt do that just to gain cubes.

thats the bore and stroke of a SBC. So its basically a SBC with 2 less cylinders then. Would the Sbc pistons fit then?

Yes. 350 parts like pistons, rods, pushrods etc. fit in the 4.3 because it's just a 350 with two cylinders chopped off. The only downside of this engine is the lack of aftermarket heads. There are none left. Brodix used to make them but they're now discontinued. You're stuck with crappy stockers, but good thing is you can fit them with 2.02/1.6 valves.

4.3 is a bastard rod length (5.94 i think)) and the crank pin (.200 larger than a SBC i think) is a bastard size compared to all the other SBCs. everything else that i know of is the same as a 350. if by some chance you're thinking of swapping one into a f body it isn't a direct bolt in and you'll be making some parts and relocating some. if you have a v6 now you'll need a differant trans for the SBC bolt pattern.
