377 ci internals
Does anyone know if the stock 3.48 crank and 5.7 rods off an L98 or LB9 will work on 400sbc ? In other words to you have to buy a special crank for a 377 or will any standard sized 3.48 crank and 5.7 rods work ?
thx,
RP.

The crank has to be for a 2-piece rear main seal; so a L98 crank won't work. Has to be the earlier model 350 crank.
But apart from that, yes, it works. Use a 400 block, stock 400 pistons, stock 350 crank & rods, and bearing spacers which you can buy from Comp and maybe others.

If you really wanted to, you can get an adapter to run a 1 pc. in a 2pc. block. Last i looked they were about $130, so it might not be cost effective to reuse an old crank if it needs machine work.
