From a 2.8 to 305....

ok, so a connecting rod in my motor snapped after my tranny was slipping. apparently both are done for now, but i know a guy with an LG4 and a 700r4 to go with it for 200cad,(125US).. the LG4 has no carb on it. it's from an 86 berlinetta, I currently have an 86 with the 2.8. How much work is involved in swapping one for the other, and is that a good price on motor+tranny.?

It's a good bit of work. Basically anything that is connected to or supports the engine needs to be changed. The price you quoted for engine/trans is pretty good, would be even better if it included radiator, throttle cables, accessories, etc.

Your car is non-computer, correct?

I don't know when V8 Canadian cars started getting computers. If the V8 you're getting doesn't have one, then you don't need it. Not sure how they went about locking the TCC, though.
