Pulling the motor...
I have never pulled an engine out of a 3rd gen camaro. This evening I rolled my engine lift up to the engine bay, and realized that even with the boom fully extended, the lifting hook was far short of being center over the engine.
Anyone else have this problem? Does the nose clip need to come off in order to make room?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when I swapped motors in my bird, lay men terms-your lift is junk! I used my buddies brothers and his arm is also short, I took it for granted, after fighting with it I got it in, pushed the plastic bumper in all the way-it's getting body stuff done this winter so if I dinged it I did'nt care, anyways, after talking with some people there is a difference in the boom length by manufactuers, I checked out 3 other ones and the arms are considerably longer on the better units-you did have it fully extended I assume?

i bought an AC Delco engine hoist for $200. It has a longer boom than any of my other buddies. it cleared my Z28 with no trouble leaving the front bumber on. Although the hood does have to come off just so you don't dent it. Also i looked and to rent one was $75 for a weekend so i just let people borrow mine for $50 a pop. Seems to make good $$$$ for me.
