Will an Olds 307 engine and turbo 350 tranny fit right in to my 82 Trans Am??
Im building a 350 chev but I want to stick this olds engine in untill the 350s done. The olds engine is out of a 79 buick.
Im worried about the exhaust manifold clearance.

The exhaust on the motor will probably fit into the chassis, but it certainly won't hook up to what's in the car.
You'd have to adapt that; get a different driveshaft; move the battery to the other side of the car; deal with a completely different wiring arrangement; and no doubt a few other minor details. All in all not a very direct swap, and not free or really even cheap. I'd recommend spending your money and effort on the 350 instead.

I don't think it's a good idea to put a 307 in your trans-am. it's a very weak engine, seems like a waste of time and money. I guess if it's to hold you over, but I'd rather just take a bus for a while.
