complete swap from 93-97 to 84 z28?

hi,
im thinking bout swapping in a lt1 in my one camaro,i keep beating my options around, but anyways,i would also like to swap in the dash and center console, now i would more than likely buy a complete 93-97 camaro/transam,so it would be easier, but how hard do you think it would be to take everything from one car and put into my 84?and i mean everything, doorpanels, dash, full wiring from the newer one,all the relays, the light's relays, just basically taking my dash out,and all the wiring behind it,and swapping in the dahs and wiring from the other one, along with all the wires in the engine bay,the fuse box, putting in new power windows from the newer one,and putting in power locks, making the keyless entry work, all that, well what do you think?the motor swap itself,i dont think would be all that hard, plus i already have a t-56,im a little bit worried about the wiring issue myself,im not that great at wiring up the under the dash part,i tried to put tpi in my car,and it didnt work out to great to say the least, but could have been b/c it was setup for a stock 305,and i hard a mild 350,but i dont know, anyways,do you think it would be to much work to try and do this,or do you think i should swap in the motor, and figure out the wiring part, and then just swap in the dash and door panels, and center console, and leave it at that?thanks for your time.
p.s. sorry for long post

Phil,
I don't think all you're wanting to do can be done. Swapping door panels, power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry, etc. Those were all made for a 4 gen. F-body, and as you know you have a 3 gen. F-body. They will not fit. Besides just replace your stock electric motors, etc. or take it to a shopt and for like $150 they can do all of that for you, just not from a 4 gen. The dash would require some MAJOR customization. The dashes are different sizes, etc. You would be cutting and trimming, and I doubt it would come out good. The seats might be able to fit in your car from the donor car, but the fact is, if you want all of that, then just buy a 4 gen trans am, it would end up being cheaper and a heck of a lot easier to do.
Now as for the motor swap part, that's been done quite a few times. Check out the permanant post at the top of the motor swap forum on that. But again as for the rest of it, I don't think you can do it, or if you can it would require NUMBEROUS hours of cutting and fabrication to fit it in your car. They're just shaped so differently.

Check out Fatal88 Car on this link.https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=145973 He has done it all, and one of the best jobs I have ever seen. It can be done, so don't let anyone tell you different. Just takes alot of hard work and some knowledge. I am sure that Fatal88 will help you in anyway he can.

You are right too though....It will take alot of hard work and some serious thinking and customizing. Plus $$$. I didn't mean to be hard on you or nothing, and I hope you didn't take it that way. I didn't mean it like that... anyway.

No I didn't take it badly. It caught me off guard though, because I didn't really think anyone would want to do that, considering all the work involved and so why don't they just buy LT1 car!

That's just it. Some people love the challenge of customizing things..I am one of those people. It's fun to make things work that normally would not. It may sound sick, but hey it passes the time and keeps ya thinking.

hi,
i know about all the interior parts, and the basic's of the engine swap,so i dont think they will be all that hard, just im really worried about all the other wiring myself, and this isnt my everyday car,so i can take my time, and spend money sparingly.
thanks for the input though....

Yeap! The wiring is always teh fun part. You'll need both cars wiring diagrams so you can compare. It's hard but worth it.
