Well i am not gonna lie to you, it is a very hard swap, but it can be done. I am not sure if any one has ever swapped in a LS6, but people have swapped in LS1's which should be about the same exact swap. I would do a search on swapping LS1 and go from there. I am sure people on here have much more knowledge then me and will be able to help you out a lot more. Good luck on the swap, and i am sure it will be badass when its done.

Yea, externally, an LS6 has the exact same dimentions as an LS1, so it should be the same as an LS1 swap. I'm pretty sure that the only difference between an LS6 and LS1 is that the LS6 has a better intake system, and (not 100% on this) a better cam and compression ratio is slightly higher.

I believe the LS6 also has better heads, not 100% sure though. Just read it somewhere.

Check out this website,

www.speartech.com

They show a swap of an LS1 into a 3rd gen, could be useful to you.

yeah it can be done, just need to make sure you also have the harness, computer, trans, etc.

i looked into it myself as well. figured with the LS6 a little bit of goodies added to it; the trans, computer, etc i was looking at at least 6-8000 for under 400 ponies. quite a bit of custom work. definate motor mounts need to be made as well as some alterations for the electronics.

scraped the idea and now i'm going to try a crate engine. may not be as cool or upto date with technology but when it has more horsepower and money in the pocket i'll be happier. the only upside i see with it (besides being able to say you have an LS6) is that it's lighter. other than that the parts are extremely expensive when compared to you basic 350.

good luck with it though. hope you have the pocket book to do it right.

I was in the market for an LS6. However I went with a 2001 LS1 and modded it instead. The 01 and 02 LS1 share the same free flowing intake as the LS6. Through cam, pushrod, springs, and PCM recalibtation I expect to match LS6 RWHP.

From my experience, the LS6 demands at least a 2K premium. That money can be better spent on mods.

Good luck
