Oh man go for it. If you have a Turbo 3.8 already then do it!!!
With all the great stuff you can do to turbos you can make that thing screeeeam! Yeah you'd be different as they come.

if i remember correctly, you would have to use a different set of heads than the buick engine uses because of clearance problems in the engine bay, along with a different passanger side header, and down pipe. also if you use the 2004-r tranny, u need a special tranny mount adapter to adapt that rear trailing arm from the tranny to the rear end, i think gnttype.org or turbobuick.com or turbobuicks.com can help you out, they got some web forums wiht part numbers and what not

Thanks that is what i needed
The only time you are going to run into clearence problems is if you want to run A/C with your GN engine. No A/C, no problem. It is when you want to run A/C you are going to need a '89 TTA drivetrain and heads.
I would highly suggest you not swap a turbo 3.8 into a convertable. I bought a my TTA engine from a guy would had a t-top car. The body flex was so bad the doors started to rub against the fenders. Go with a hardtop or one hell of a rollcage.

Thanks again, hopefully this fall
Here is a link to a company that makes mounts for TTA cars. These mounts should work for all 3rd gen F bodies to mount a Buick turbo engine.

Ok, a few things to clear up, you can run GN heads and headers IF you ditch the AC, but you'll need a custom downpipe made.
As far as the frame flex is concerned...you might run into problems with the vert but there is NO reason a Ttop car should be flexing like that if you put a good set of SFC's on....
It's not really THAT hard of a swap...my car is down for the winter but she'll be back with a vengence, the ricers will tremble with fear

Many many mods planned this winter

Also you dont NEED to swap in a 2004r either. You can keep the 700, TCI makes an adapter plate that allows you to bolt it up
I'm running a 700 in my car...
