If it has the specs of this cam then it's a good cam.

I don't think there's an LT1 hot cam all I've heard about was the LT4 Hot Cam. You should call them up and get the specs of the cam.

First of all LT1 did not come with hot cam

Second of all there is a big diffrence if you buy you cam from GM or Comp cam or from that new company even if they are the same specs (Duration- lift) you will get diffrent HP reading... Why??
Because the way how they designed the lobe of the cam and how much they spend time on researching so be ware.

How much do you wanna spend and do you want to tune the car yourself?

I'd go with a Comp Cams 306. High lift with 1.5 rockers. Just need new springs to support the lift.
I've got an LT4 hotcam in my LT1 block so I am just going to use that for now.

I wouldnt go with the 306 with the stock replacement motor. It is a large cam and tends to give a little cam surge even with tuning on LT1's, and a lot without. This cam likes to rev to 6500. Can your motor take this?

With that mentioned, do you have any specs on the motor? What heads does it have(flow numbers?). Are you going to have headers and exhaust? What kind of fuel system are you going to be running. We will need to know all this before we can really give a good suggestion on the cam. LT1 heads tend to flow a bit better in stock form than most other heads and pretty much all thirdgen heads. If you are using stock unported heads I wouldnt go bigger than the LT4 hotcam.

If you go with an aftermarket cam, I would suggest Comp cams extreem energy line. It helps keep good drivability with larger cams by faster ramp rates on the cam. Many people have had good results with them.
