tip on LT1 conversion + p/s line

TIP:
on the high pressure power steering pump. order the 95 impala(no modifications needed) just plugs right in, it's a perfect fit

per the (moto18 email):

I'm in the process of installing the 95 impala lt1 into my 87. the pressure line form the pump to the p/s gear box was not part of the sell. so i tried first to us the 87 p/s line and add an extention hard line to the gear box(it failed). then i got a copy of the 95 impala p/s line and it worked super great no mods what so ever. and you can use your own 87sensor. I see that a lot for the 95 impala parts are adatable in the conversion process.

my p/s pump is at (if you were looking at the lt1 face on) in between 7 and 8 o'clock. the line goes from the left of the pump to the left of the a/c pump and down in between the a/c pump and frame then follows along side the cross frame and then goes up to the p/s gear box. PERFECT- JUST PERFECT.

if your getting radiator hoses you WILL need a 92 corvette lower hose and a 94 camaro upper hose(this hose has an external 1/2" hose mounted on it the would lead to the hard line that connects both outputs of the rear of the heads).

feel free to ask another question.

I purchased the line you mentioned snd it will not fit my pump. I have a 94 LT1 and the line does not bend right for my pump. The impal uses a different pump, could this be why. Are you using an LT1 out of an Impala?

The one that came with my Vette motor worked. All I had to do was put a slight bend in the hard part of the line where it comes out of the pump and it bolted hooked up nicely. The rubber part of the hose is a bit long for my tastes though.

We have the same problem on my friends install.
The line is like 3 feet long and only needs to go 6" since the Vette Accessories are on the drivers side.

I'm eventually going to take the whole line into a hydraulic shop and have them make me a new using mine as a reference....just shorter.
