Power range...
For the 383 i plan on building, i figure there will be plenty of low end torque, so for supercharging i think i will want to focus the power at higher rpms.
I am trying to learn more about cams, but i am having a difficult itme choosing what power band i should go with. Those of you with more experience may know differences between different powerbands fairly well.
For a street car, driven only summers maybe 3-4 times a week, what would you guys recommend for a cam? Who makes the better quality cams that i should go with for a supercharged motor?

I reccomend going with a roller cam setup. High lift, high duration. How are you going to deal with NJ emissions? Also do you have A4 or M5/6? Gears? Converter stall?
Give us a few more details and we will be glad to help with specs.

I am in NY, and i am not worried about emissions, i can get inspected.
For gears, i plan on going with a 3.73 Moser 12-bolt and i am looking for a new automatic transmission, any recommendations on good trannies that can hold up to a supercharged 383, should be alot of hp, 500+
As for stall converter, i have no idea about those either. I guess, if you guys could recommend a cam and stall converter that would be optimal for use with a supercharged 383, Miniram. I know these two things will control where my powerband is, like i said before, there will be plenty of torque low end so i am looking for some good power up top but i am not looking to take this car at extremely high speeds such as 150+....

Here are a few options I would consider:
224/226 .571/.571 114 LSA Will have good streetability and will make good power from 1800-6200 rpm. Can use SS3600-SS3800 converters for correct stall.
232/238 .557/.557 112 LSA. Lopey idle will need SS3800-SS4000 stall. Power will be shifted up to 2200-6600 range.
I am assumed this is supercharged with around 7psi and ported and polished heads.
This should get you started. If you want a high powerband you will need to build up that bottom end, etc.
If it were my setup I would choose the first one. For the street you need more power down low and in the upper mids.
For the converter I reccomend the Yank SS series. www.yank.cc I am using an SS3600 in my setup. It weighs 29 LBS! (stock weighs 55.) Because of the unique stator design it feels like a 2800 and provides a 2.5 hard hitting Stall torque ratio (STR) and maintains top end efficiency.
