between swapping a zz4 or lt1, which is the least complicated. I'm not real real sure but wouldent the zz4 be easier? And wouldent everything else just "plug in"?

If you already have a carb setup the ZZ4 would be a breeze.

The ZZ4 and the 350HO are two different crate motors. However for the money, the 350HO is a far better deal in my opinion (costs way, way less). The vortec heads that come on the 350HO flow way better than the aluminum vorvette heads as well. I ran 12.93@106 with my 350HO in stock form.

The deluxe comes carbed and the base crate engine comes without intake/carb/distributor. If it were me, I would go carb to save yourself some headaches.

More money, more wiring, depending on what type of F.I. you go with custom chip burning, more tuning, possibly the need for dyno time to dial it in.

A carb setup, properly dialed in, can make just as much power as fuel injection at a fraction of the cost.

Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of people on here that can help you with fuel injection, I am just telling you that if you slap a carb on that motor you wont be dissapointed .

It depends on what he wants his car to be like. A carb has a couple disadvantages to a FI setup. If he just wants to romp around on the 1/4 mile and dosn't mind learning to tune the carb then he won't be dissapointed.

nah I like FI, I guess easiest thing to do for now is find a third gen z28 350 and rebuild that for a swap later on.

If your state requires emissions testing go FI. If your car is already equiped with TBI or TPI you already have a good baseline.

My ***!!!!! Explain stock form for me and what do you have the engine in........ I definitely got to get to the track. I do not think I am running that good, but mid 13's should be conservative for guessing.

It is in a thirdgen, 1982 Camaro that weighed 3100 without driver at the time. I meant the motor was in stock form. It had a performer intake, a demon 650 carb (that was the ticket, worth a full second over my 600 edelbrock), msd pro billet distributor, msd blaster 2 coil, accel wires, electric fan, hedman ellite ceramic coated headers, dual exhaust, a turbo 350 and a 3000 hughes pro street stall with 3.73's and posi.

As for now, I have yet to get this combo to hook up but I have added:
Comp Cams Extreme Energy 274 Cam (230/236 .487/.490)
KMotion Valve Springs (no machine work required)
Pinned studs
Professional Porting and polishing of my vortec heads
Shim gaskets
Shaved heads 4cc (giving 10.06:1 compression)
Super Victor for Vortec heads
Carb Jetting

Out of that setup i have managed a tractionless 12.74@108.97 mph. I am hoping to have it to 110mph sometime soon, we'll see.

I think your TPI, even with the aftermarket base, and any additional weight you have will hold your car back from reaching 12's.

They are holding up awesome. Turbo 350 with a 3000 stall and 7.5" 10 bolt with an SLP posi, 28 spline axles and richmond street 3.73 gears.

New best is a 12.45 @ 110 on a 1.95 60 foot (no traction, still on street tires). I have 1.82 60 footed before, I know it will 1.7 now with the tuneup i just gave it, so on tires it probably would have gone in the 12.1X's.
