will my t56(1996 TA) bolt up to a LS1

I heard somewhere that the earlier t56's won't bolt up to the newer LS1's? Is this true. Considering the LS1 swap and this would be a the deciding factor. Thanks in advance for the help

what would I have to do to use this tranny, buy a diff bell housing for it? or just sell it and buy a LS1/t56 set up??

As I recall there is a difference in the input shaft length. Save yourself the headaches and get the LS1 T56.
