found a L98
Hey guys,
I threw a rod last month and just stumbled upon a guy with a 90 vette. It has 68k miles on it and he's going to do the LT1 swap, so he said I could have his engine for $500. I think it's a good deal, what do you guys think? It wouldn't include the accesories or harness. But I can use mine from my 91 LB9. What could I do about the oil pressure sender? And I can use my old ECM right? I mean an L98 is an L98, right? I know I need a new prom chip, will both a vette and f-body one work?

The engine itself is basically the same except it probably has aluminum heads (f-body has iron) and different computer programing.
EDIT: Almost forgot... i think the Corvette has a different water pump than the f-body. That may be only the older vettes, but its worth checking before you drop it in.

That doesn't sound too bad with low mileage, but I would make sure you see it run before you buy it and make sure it doesn't smoke or anything.
