Im new and have lots of questions
I have a 86 trans am, with a carb. 305 in it. Its all stock because I know it pretty much pointless to put money into a 305. I have a 350 Im building In my garage and need to know some of the mods I need to get it to work in my car. I also have heads for the 350 too. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I would just run a non-cc carb, and get rid of all the engine controls and computer stuff. You will also need a non-cc distributor. Other then that there is no difference. Or you could just swap all the sensors, controls, carb, and distributor you have now on your 305.

question about vaccum advance
How would I take out the computer controlled stuff and make it work. I know you would have to change it to vaccum advance, but how would I do this. I know this may be a basic quesiton, but I have no clue how I would do it.

If one don't know how to tune in a carb or timing, then it's kinda good idea to have a computer do it for you. That's some of the reason they started with computer controlling in th first place.
