Obd2 Lt1?
I'm pretty sure I'll be going ahead with the LT1 swap, and the computer I have is a '96. Since it's OBD2 I was thinking of the benefits of OBD2 vs OBD1. Does anyone have an OBD2 LT1? The reason I'd like to stay OBD2 is because of the added diagnostics of OBD2.

Not worth it IMO but if you really want OBDII you'll just either need to make bungs for 2 rear oxygen sensors or use simulators. If you want to program it, I believe you can use LT1Edit. I wouldn't use it, I heard emissions can now actually plug into a OBDII to see if you bypassed any emission standards.
With my laptop and Datamaster I can tell you exactly whats wrong with your engine just as well as a Tech2 can. I'm running OBD1 and there is nothing I can't find out or figure out with datalogging software. To me there is no reason to run OBD2 because of the added programming necessities and the fact that most people who run it get rear O2 sensor sims anyway, completely negating the reason for having it in the first place. To me, for the power enthusiast like us, OBD1 is the better choice unless you are in California and just want a newer, more fuel efficient and cleaner engine.

One benefit on OBD2 cars is that they do not take roller tests in most states. All that is done is a computer verification of all sensors working. Programming can easily make them send the correct information. The fact that OBD2 is harder to program and doesn't respond to mods better was true when little was known about it. Nowadays with more knowledge available, it is just as easy and absolutely as responsive to mods as OBD1. I think the major disadvantage is the lack of free software for reprogramming. The actual OBD2 software is very pricey.
