I've been working on an LT1 conversion. I fired it up today, and everything worked! My home made wiring harness went right into closed loop after it warmed up. My home made VSS seems to work too. I was sure there would have been leaks or a few electrical fires. All the gauges worked too!

I did get an error code, MALF 26 CCP Electrical Fault. Can't be anything important, it don't light the CEL. Maybe it's because I have the air conditioning compressor relay unplugged.

I guess when I get the seats in I should take it for a ride.

Glad to hear it! Have fun in your new LT1

I'm hoping for the same....... I'm swapping my 350 TPI into a much lighter '72 Nova. My Firebird weighs above 3,400lbs as is, but the Nova weighs less than 1,500lbs (completely stripped, no engine/trans/driveshaft).

I'm not home. I have pics of my VSS on my home server. I needed a speedo hookup and an LT1 type VSS. Conversion tail housings were expensive, so I put the speedo drive where the VSS was, then I bored out the reluctor for theVSS, moved it up the trans shaft where the governer used to be on the 4L60, then I modified the pickup so it fit inside the tail near the reluctor. I'll try to remember to send pictures, texasLT1 has the pics if he's around he'll probably post them if he sees this message.
