motor mount bracket
On all sbc's I have dealt with the motor mount bracket that attaches to the block have been the same. I have swapped in a 78 block into my 84 Z28 and at first used the brackets that were on it and they didn't fit right so I checked the originals off my 84 Z-28/305 and found they are different. On has the thru bolt hole about 1\2" closer to the block and the other is the same as all chevy brackets. I have been having a problem with my hooker LT's and found swapping the brackets does change where the motor sits. Is that the way the 3rd gen's were with two different brackets? If that is the way they should be which side does the short one go on as I didn't check when I took them off.

Out of 29418 members I thought maybe someone would have run across this one way or the other. Any suggestions on who might have that info on the net?
