The ones that you marked "distributor power" and "tachometer" when you took it apart.

oh yeah i cant agree with ya more but you cant say you havent been eager and anxious to start a project and forget to take time to label every little wire you take off now ....LOL....everyone has done it ...no one is perfect in my opinion.......even labeling all the wires dont work sometimes like when your changin from a v6 injected motor to a v8 carb for instance you could spend all day labeling wires your gonna cut out and that would suck ...lol...but anyway labeling the important ones is a good idea but i have done it too and had to spend hours with a test light to find which wires were the right ones....
Well, its kind of like this, i am going from a mpfi V6 to a V8, i DONT KNOW which one needs to be hooked up, its not a matter of labeling it, hell i didnt know if the one that hooks up to the coil is the right one or the one that hooks up to the distributor is.

My apologies. Should have added that I was trying to move the post up so someone with details could answer.
FWIW, when going from external coil to coil-in-cap HEI, the positive coil wire goes to the batt terminal on the HEI.

I updated the sticky with that information. Frankly, I hadn't thought about it because none of the cars I've had used the external coil.
