2.8 V6 CAMARO to LT1 Carbed

Anyone done this? went from the v6 to the lt1 carbed? I'm in the process of doing this and I almost have all the parts together. If any has have you had any problems? I'm going with a th-350 transmission that is be rebuilt. I have all aftermarket Autometer Phantom gauges. Please let me know of any troubles I about ready to pull the old out and in with this beast. Would I have to change drive shafts thats one im not sure of.

thanks for any heads up.

Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
Im doing a fi v6 to carbed v8 swap but mine isnt an lt1. Same difference though. I dont think you'll have to change the drive shaft. I know i dont, i could be wrong though. But hey, have fun!

btw from what everyone says getting the old motor mounts off is one of the hardest parts.

There is someone else who has done it but I can't remember their name. Going to a carb greatly simplifies the whole swap, but if you want a/c you're still going to have to notch the frame. With a TH350 I think you'll need to a longer driveshaft. If that becomes a problem let me know, my brother had a custom one made in Houston for his car for I think $100 that was supposed to be good to over 500hp. I think. I'll check with him about it. Also, you'll either want to get a very good fuel pressure regulator, or get a fuel pump designed for a carb. Other than that, I don't think you'll have too much trouble doing the swap.

The TH350 has to have a 9" tailshaft, or you'll need the longer 200r4 driveshaft, or lengthen yours for like $65 at a driveline shop.

should be a direct bolt in with the 9" shaft ...the 6 inch gives you the problem.

oops thats what you just said eh twilight!

Do you guys know if a 2nd gen drive shaft would work? My friend who gave me the tranny has a few of them. He said it works with the tranny?
