305 to 350 conversion
I just put a 350 in my truck I know this does not reall aplly to you guys but it sounds like you know what your talking about and I keeping different story from everyone I talk to about this. I made the switch on saturday and I'm still using the 305 prom and injectors I did not switch the knock sensor or the ecs. I'm getting a pre ignition while I accelerate and the computer is running code 42. where do I go from here.

welcome to the boards
I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, but get the correct parts on there. I just did that swap and it works ok, all I have is the 350 knock sensor, and here is the key...a GOOD tune up. I put that in big letters because my car ran bad until I put new wires, plugs, cap, and rotor in, ohh and also a fuel filter. well good luck and hope this helps.

ya I know, its just a matter of fundage lately, and I'd actually like to get into burning my own chips as far as the prom goes. as for the right size injectors I'm holding out for being able to afford the holley 670 tbi.

thanx for the help guys. Every thing is new wires cap rotor plugs and the fuel filter. Do you know what the part numbers are for a 350 ecs and 350 injectors? what could cause the computer to run code 42 would pre ignition set that off or could my distributor module and pick up be at fault.
