Can LT4 springs handle the lift of a C305 and 1.6 RR's?
I posted this on another forum but hopefully the LT1 guru's here can have some input here:
Yes I know its better to get other springs but I have some lt4 springs sitting in the garage. Can they handle the lift or am I forced to buy some beefier springs? If so can someone recommend some valve springs that will use the stock seats? Thanks.

Ok, answer is no, too much lift. Anyone know any aftermarket valve springs that can handle the lift of a C305 with 1.6 Roller rockers and still use the stock spring seats? I don't want to pull the heads yet. Thanks.

I take it you checked out over on www.camaroz28.com. There are a lot of guys running that cam on untouched heads. They should shed some light.

go to CZ28.com and check out combination motorsports they sell springs that fit the stock pockets but will handle cams with alot more lift than the CC305

I believe its .540 unless comp cams rates thier cams using 1.6, if thats the case then its .510. Im positive I can't use the lt4 springs. But I don't want to pull the heads and have new seats made.

Usually The LT4 cam and heads swap will give you somewhere in the range of 340-350 rwhp..
the cam swap alone will give you 320-330rwhp.. head to the LT1 section of cz28.com and search for LT4 Dyno results that should give you an idea of the ballpark, save for a few freakish posts..

Just picked up a set of springs, locks, and retainers from combination motorsports that can handle up to .600 lift using the stock lt1 spring seats. Only $121 shipped to my door. Spoke with Brian, great company and thanks for the referral.
