Hey guys im looking to buy either a 3rd gen manual for a ls1/6speed conversion. Before selling my iroc(automatic) i have been dead set on a ls1/6 speed swap in my maro. Im taking some high tech aircraft and tech classes at lewis university so i hope they will aide me in the install. However, i was wondering if u guys new any sites that could give me more info on installing a ls1 into a c4(84-91). I love thirdgens and will still have one but for my street/strip racer i would rather have a vette fro the handling and weight. Plus, there not all that pricey and usually in alot better shape. Theres tons of info on this site abotu the install but im having a hard time with finding the vette conversions.

Do you guys knwow of any sites with hybrid c4 ls1s?
Would the swap be more difficult then on a thirdgen?
Could the rear hold up on the vette to a modified ls1 or is it gonna need a 12 bolt too?
Should i say hell with the vette and go iroc-z hybrid(money reasons)?

 

Stick with the thirdgen. The vette isnt anything special.

 

yea i know the vette isnt much better then the thirdgen and hell the thirdgen even looks nicer till the c5 came out. But with the right stuff the vette can be a very nice car. Im still gonna have my thirdgen i jsut think the extra work on the vette would be more beneficial and i would get better ets with it as well. I dont really kow any corvette sites with info as good as this one. I can sit on here all day when im bored and learn and learn. If anyone can help or direct me to some good sites i would appreciate it

 

If you don't focus this thread to swapping the LS1 into your 3rd gen it won't last and will be locked. Look at www.ls1tech.com, www.ls1.com, and www.camaroz28.com for better info. Those sites are deticated to all forms of EFI found in vettes and f-bodies.

 

Throw that LS1/6-speed into a thirdgen.......

I myself am very anti-corvette

 

I like them both and actually, the Vette is better built. I agree with Fly....the LS1 in the 3rd gen would be cool.

Be original... put the LS1/T56 into an '84 Corvette, and leave the Crossfire badges.

 

haha i knew some one who did that. He threw in a 2000 Ls1 and added a T56 into ihis 84 Vette, That car is fast as well as ZzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzzzZzzzzzz
