Looks interesting.

Two things:

1) What induction would you run on it?

2) Is this an issue? "May not be smog legal for your state and county."

It looks slightly overpriced.

and as five7 hinted at, those are fast-burn cylinder heads, they have vortec-style ports, so you would have to run a vortec-specific intake.

also those heads don't have an EGR crossover, so they wouldn't be 100% emissions legal.

If you are looking to buy a crate motor it sounds like a reasonable deal, but if you feal half-way confident to build and engine yourself, you could get a lot more motor for your money.

I wouldn't trust buying that from Fbodymotorsports either!
(note: Thirdgen resource is also Fbodymotorsports!)

Read here as to why:

I think these links above should tell you enough to STAY
AWAY from them! Wait until Jeg's, Summit or a legit GM
performance dealer carries it for cheaper, or close to the
same price.

Although that motor is very close to the outer limits of what could be fed with just two fuel injectors its still feasible to properly feed it with tbi and have it run nice. But, the changes that will need to be made to the computers calibration arn't for the faint of heart. Such changes like changes to the actual code as well as radically reworking the tune.

If your emmisions permit you could change over to carb and a non-CC dist. It would elimintate having to use the efi, which in stock form its doubtful it would even be drivable. If you do plan on using any sort of efi then you should learn how to set things up and tune with a computer before you pruchase an engine.

It would make a killer street engine, it's $4,725.00 at SDPC
ZZ383
and it's free shipping, however the HT383 would make a much better daily driver and it's $3998.00

The LO3 is as low as you can go so jsut about anything isnt going to work without some tuning if youll be reusing the TBI. 350-400 horsepower is way far from the stock 170 HP of the LO3 and youll definatly have to redo the calibration in the ecm. Youll also need a larger 2 in tbi, high pph injectors, and an afermarket pump since the stock pump wont be adiquate. All in all you could get low buck tuning equipment and the other stuff to make it work for about the price of a decent carb. If you keep your eyes peeled you could pick up a 2 in tbi for pretty cheap. turbocity was dumping some of the older style 670 holley tbis for $75 (the injector pods and mopar injectors are junk even when new but the actual tbi base is good).

Just keep in mind that itll need tuning if you use the efi so it wont be a turn the key and drive off sort of swap.
