2.8 v6 to a 350 v8 SWAP?
ok, what would i have to do for a 2.8 swap to a 350 v8? if anybody could post a good detailed reply like what i would have to change and what not. I have a 88 muiti.port injection and i think that it has a 700r4 tranny in it. and it is an automatic by the way. that would be great

I have the same setup in my '86 bird that I'm getting ready to swap out with an LT1 and will have to replace the engine wiring harness, convert the VSS to work with my mechanical speedo, bypass the VATS splice the wires to work with the harness under the dash.
If you put in a TPI motor, all you will need to change is the engine harness and the ECM since it will be compatable with the underdash wiring.
If you have a tach, it will be way off with the V8 and also possibly the oil gauge, temp gauge will be off as well, but nothing a good set of aftermarket gauges will fix.
The 700R4 on the V6 is a different beast from the ones on the V8's so you will have to change this as well and I'm not totally sure if the crossmember for the V6 tranny will work with the V8, but someone else may have info on this.
The one last thing is, you may have to drill the crossmember for the V8 mounts.

There has to be at least 100 threads with almost the exact same title in the archive. If you search you will find more than you need to know probably. There is a sticky at the top too, in case you didnt notice.
