89 350 TPI Into a 84 Trans Am....
Hey guys,
i have a few questions...
I recently bought an 84 TA rolling chassis and was wanting to buy an 350 TPI engine and install it in my TA..
Now are there any modifications or things i should know or have in order to do this? Or is it basically just a drop in go, as long as i have everything that is part of the TPI? Do i need a new aftermarket harness in order to use the harness from the TPI?
Just wondering the basics of the install so i can get a better idea. Sorry im a 4th gen guy mainly so im just a lil fimilar with the 3rd gen things..
thanks

The '84 had a carbed engine. About the only way to "drop in" a 350 TPI is if you put a carb on it.
You are going to need all of the TPI supporting cast: Harnesses, sensors, computer, fuel lines, in-tank electric fuel pump, relays, switches, etc., etc., etc. The best way to get all that would be from a complete donor car.
